  • Day 2 — Bonjour Dunkirque

    Today we will have breakfast in France, morning coffee in Belgium, lunch in Holland and dinner in Germany. “When in Europe, do as the….xx”.

    Does anyone remember Dover Seaways? No? Do lifebelts have a lifespan? Never been so relieved to wave goodbye to the white cliffs of Dover, but still checking the safety equipment on board, just in case. While Mr. Jones has a little kip on a bench in the cafeteria…zzz

  • Day 1 — 323.6 miles from North Wales to Dwfwr (Dover)

    This time was easy compared with last time we made the same journey. The old Ford Focus needed a new alternator by the time we got to Dover. Security is much stricter now.

  • Day 1 — Leaving Spring behind

    Leaving Spring behind at home today, going to look for Spring in other places. Driving 385miles today to get to Dover to catch a ferry to Dunkirque. (Did you know the name Dover originates from old Brythoneg Dwfwr, meaning water, wrth gwrs!) Leaving a Spring garden in all its glory, maybe we’ll come back to…
